New name and logo for Norwich

99.9 Radio Norwich has been confirmed as the name of the City?s new radio station, which launches later this year. The new station has also released its brand and visual identity, which has been designed by award-winning local advertising and graphic design consultancy, Creative Sponge.

99.9 Radio Norwich is a joint venture between two of the UK?s most successful local radio operators, Tindle Radio and Town and Country Broadcasting, and involves a host of local business people and personalities as Directors. Tindle Radio owns adjacent market-leading stations The Beach and North Norfolk Radio.

Kevin Stewart, Chief Executive of Tindle Radio said; ?We are really pleased with the design for 99.9 Radio Norwich, which underlines that nine will be the magic number in the City in 2006 and beyond. We always want to do business locally where we can and Creative Sponge have come up with an excellent brand identity for the biggest media launch in Norwich in a generation?.

Mark Scoggins, Managing Director at Creative Sponge said; ?We are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project as the City?s new radio station. The brand design reflects the simplicity of the concept and also clearly communicates its frequencies, which are so important at launch?.

The formal launch date of 99.9 Radio Norwich will be confirmed later this year. The station will play the City?s all time favourite songs. It will also broadcast comprehensive local news, traffic and travel information, and what?s on information. The station will broadcast on 99.9FM and will be heard across the City and most of the County.
