Following on from the sale of Passion 107.9 to Absolute Radio, the new owners have confirmed they have developed a range of initiatives which it will quickly implement at the station, the first is to introduce Ian Walker as General Manager and Programme Director.
Absolute Radio International is building its presence in UK radio through both acquisitions and applications. It is currently involved in applications for new FM services in Bristol and Liverpool, and will continue with its application for the new Oxford licence. ARI say the acquisition of Passion is a significant first point of entry for them into the Oxfordshire market. They also intend to be an active participant in the development of DAB in the Oxfordshire and Northern Home Counties.
