DLT to perform Magic shows

Dave Lee Travis, the hairy cornflake, is the latest presenter to be hired by Emap to help keep the Magic alive. As part of the new sound to Magic stations on medium wave and DAB across the North of England, Dave Lee Travis will host a new show on Saturday mornings – which will also be broadcast on Magic in London.

From July 3rd, local Magic AM stations will have increased networking, with only a daily breakfast show remaining locally presented. The new weekend networks shows are DLT Saturday 10am till 1pm and Eamonn Holmes Sunday 10am till 1pm.

The new-look stations will target an older demographic of 44 ? 59 year olds with music and content to reflect this change. Output will include specialist programmes dedicated to the 60s and 70s.

Steve King, Big City Programme Director, said: ?It?s important that the Magic AM stations adapt to reflect and respond to our listeners? interests. We will be introducing more networked programming focusing on the 60s and 70s music our audiences love, whilst retaining a local feel to the stations with the breakfast and news programming?.

?We look forward to welcoming presenters Dave Lee Travis and Eamonn Holmes to the AM network, and are confident that their programmes will be popular with our listeners.?
