Jack FM want to win Oxford

Amongst the applications for Oxford today (yet to be announced by Ofcom), will be an application submitted by Absolute Radio as JACK-FM, the popular music format currently heard in Canada and the USA.

JACK-FM delivers a completely new and different emphasis on listener-focus with less clutter and a fresh compelling presentation style with attitude. In a recent US study, Jack?s synonymous slogan ?Playing What We Want? was found to have attained higher listener recognition than McDonald?s ?I?m lovin? it?.

JACK-FM will also welcome back to Oxford the legendary and former Fox FM presenter Phil Angell, who will present a weekly music and entertainment programme.

Clive Dickens ? ARI ? Programming & Operations Director says, ?Having carried out one of the most extensive and exhaustive analysis the Oxford radio market has ever seen, it was clear that there is a distinct lack of listening choice for the Adult 35-54 market in the area. JACK-FM is new and fresh and will provide quality local news and content blended with the most music of any local radio station in Oxfordshire.”

Garry Wall of SparkNet Communications ? JACK-FM co-creator – added, “We chose to work with Absolute Radio because of their commitment to doing something truly different in UK Radio. In the ultimate English City of Oxford where BBC Radio 2?s music variety is gaining huge popularity, it?s fitting that the market responded so positively to the JACK-FM concept.”

The licence is expected to be awarded in September and on-air by March 2007. We’ll bring you all the applicants for Oxford shortly.
