More digital DAB for talkSPORT

UTV Radio-owned national station talkSPORT is now transmitting on the Northern Ireland DAB digital multiplex. The station is already available digitally in the area via Freeview, Sky and Cable but this latest edition will complete this phase of the station?s digital expansion plans.

Scott Taunton, talkSPORT, chief executive said: ?It?s fantastic that talkSPORT is now available on DAB digital radio right across the UK. Our timing couldn?t be better, with our live commentary from each game of the World Cup; we?re now able to offer our listeners even more choice. It?s great that our listeners in Northern Ireland can enjoy the same coverage and insightful analysis as rest of the UK.?

Aside from the addition of Northern Ireland to the station?s digital platform, Taunton is committed to developing further ways of transmitting talkSPORT?s award winning coverage:

?talkSPORT will continue to pioneer new digital platforms. Aside from broadcasting in Germany during the World Cup on DAB, the station has completed two test broadcasts on DRM platforms both in the UK and across Northern Europe,? he added.
