LBC to replace DNN on DAB

London talk station LBC is set to replace the Digital News Network (DNN) on DAB regional multiplexes operated by MXR – in the North West, West Midlands, Yorkshire, the North East, South Wales and the West, from the beginning of September.

DNN closed down today, making way for ‘test transmissions’ for LBC. It will give the station an extra 17m potential listeners nationally.

Managing Director of LBC, David Lloyd, says the regional service will simulcast the range of entertainment programmes from the London service, including such presenters as Nick Ferrari and Iain Lee, augmented with tailored regional news and information.

He commented: ?We?ve always had an impressive response to the personalities on LBC programmes from outside London, so it?s perfect to be able to deliver our distinctive 24 hour conversation more readily now to so many new regions on DAB.?
