New Swindon station goes live

TLRC-owned 107.7 Brunel FM has launched this morning, with Beautiful Day by U2, chosen by a lucky listener. The station started life as one of four bidders for the Swindon licence, winning the application exactly 12 months ago as Now FM, promising local news, information and issues relevant to life today in the Swindon area and featuring the best music from the past four decades and today.

Although the station is fully owned by The Local Radio Company, Brunel FM is not taking on the current group sound, so no Music Fun Life or group playlist. Instead, a playlist which has been created for the Swindon market, plus a station imaging package which is said to reflect the new sound of the group in the coming weeks.

Station jingles have been produced by On The Sly, whilst station imaging including voice-overs by Emma Clarke, have been created in house by TLRC's Production Unit. You can hear examples, and an interview with Station Manager Martin Mumford about the launch of the station in the September edition of The Radio Today Show. (out soon).
