Abbey FM Manager leaves

The Station Manager of the new local radio station for Barrow-in-Furness has left his position, just a few months after the station launched. Andrew Turner was hired by owners TLRC, CN Group and The Radio Business to launch the station, but has now stepped down to take up other interests.

Andrew will continue to host his Sunday rock show, but day-to-day management of the station has been taken over by Amanda Bell. Amanda was formerly employed by The Radio Business, part-owner of Abbey FM along with TLRC and CN Group.

Abbey FM won the licence covering Barrow and the Furness area on October 3rd 2005 after beating off competition from just one other bidder. As reported on RadioToday.co.uk, Andrew was [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.619]appointed [/link]to his position almost 12 months ago, leaving his sales position at 2BR in East Lancashire.
