Banks joins Unique Interactive

Unique Interactive has appointed Nick Banks as its new Development Director. Unique provides many services such as EPG Management Server solutions and a Digital Music Download system to clients around the world, including Emap and the BBC in the UK.

Nick’s appointment will enable further development of Unique Interactive’s digital radio software suite including its ManDLS scrolling text application, its EPG Management Server solution and its Digital Music Download system. Unique Interactive’s growing number of clients include Harris Corporation in the US, Kordia in New Zealand and Commercial Radio Australia.

Nick joins Unique Interactive from London and Hong Kong based digital radio broadcast infrastructure specialists, RadioScape. After forming part of the original team who built the software defined radio “architecture” for Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), Nick went on to become the product marketing manager for its entire broadcast infrastructure range before leaving to join Unique Interactive last month.

Of his new appointment, Nick told RadioToday.co.uk: “This is a very exciting time for digital radio as technology is now allowing broadcasters to innovate and to provide enhanced services for their listeners including song information, weather warnings and visual images on their screens. Unique Interactive is right at the heart of these developments and I am very much looking forward to working with them to realise digital radio’s full potential”

Unique Interactive Managing Director, Matthew Honey, added: “2007 is set to be a year of substantial growth for Unique Interactive. As the appetite for digital radio is growing across the globe, so our software is evolving to match broadcaster’s requirements. I am therefore delighted to be welcoming Nick into our team as his solid experience and creative vision will help us manage this evolutionary process”
