Chris Moyles in hotel drama

BBC Radio 1 breakfast host Chris Moyles tries his hand at acting in tonight's opening episode of the new series of TV drama Hotel Babylon. Moyles plays himself – alongside regulars Tamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley, plus last year's Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle.

Hotel Babylon's described by the BBC as a "tantalising insight into the world of the ultimate service industry" – episode one of the second series not only features Moyles and Chantelle (who end up arm-in-arm!), but a host of other famous names including Russ Abbot and Roni Ancona. It sets the tone for the rest of the series when you can expect to see Little Britain's David Walliams plus Kelly Brook, Julian Clary and Jennifer Ellison.

Moyles has had Tamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley in on his Radio 1 show to promote the drama. The episode he's in's all about the PR spin surrounding "celebrity" – as an MP comes to stay at the Hotel Babylon following the news that her husband has had an affair. An undercover reporter checks in and sets about seducing the female MP to create a tabloid story. All is not as it seems though – and the hotel manager (Outhwaite) and newspaper editor (Eastenders' Kacey Ainsworth) set about turning the spin back on the media-hungry politician. Moyles and Chantelle end up leaving the hotel together in front of the waiting paparazzi, stealing the headlines!

Hotel Babylon is on BBC One tonight (Thurs 15th Feb) at 9pm.
