Record high for BBC London

BBC London 94.9's celebrating its best ever RAJAR figures, after a quarter-on-quarter increase of 65,000 listeners. Average hours are up from just over 5 to 8 hours per listener per week, meaning a market share of 2% of all London radio listening – up from 1.5%,

BBC London 94.9's Editor David Robey said: "The figures are a fantastic achievement and a tribute to the commitment, professionalism and creativity of the whole radio team. In a year when we had to rebuild the whole morning schedule, with Jono and Jo at breakfast and Vanessa Feltz mid-morning, it's a fantastic achievement to end 2006 with our best ever set of combined reach and share figures."
