UTV interested in Chrysalis

UTV, fresh from revealing a 50 per-cent increase in radio profits, has announced it is ready to bid for Chrysalis' radio business. But if the radio stations owned by Chrysalis do become available, there will certainly be no shortage of bidders.

The reports, in the Telegraph and FT today, quote UTV finance director Paul O'Brien as saying: "We will look at that but it must represent value for our shareholders."

Chrysalis appointed Hawkpoint Partners Limited to assist with a review of the company last month. Speculation in the industry suggests buyers could include CanWest and UTV.
