Xfm network signs Vodka deal

The Xfm network is to launch a new website and unsigned bands promotions with Stolichnaya Vodka. The sponsorship of the network's Uploaded website and Music:Responce programmes is worth a quarter of a million pounds and will launch on Monday in London, Manchester and Scotland.

Stolichnaya Vodka will sponsor Xfm London’s monthly Music:Response Club nights, hosted by the show’s London presenter Steve Harris and Xfm Manchester’s Music:Response “On the Road” nights in central Manchester, hosted by the show’s presenter Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets. Stolichnaya and Xfm Manchester will also be searching for the best unsigned acts in and around Manchester, with a live gig to be hosted in July.

‘Uploaded’ is Xfm’s new unsigned band network, which has been born out of the technology that enabled Xfm to run its Sony Gold winning Rock School. It will allow bands to upload their tracks, create their own homepage and profile, build a gallery of band images and receive a unique Xfm Uploaded web address. Xfm’s heads of music, programme controllers and DJs will be able to listen to and even play Uploaded tracks on air. Music fans will be able to hear tracks as soon as they are uploaded.

Xfm’s head of music, Mike Walsh said ‘Uploaded is such an exciting step for Xfm, everyone here including the DJs are committed to and share a genuine passion for finding and nurturing new talent. We have a long history of helping to break new bands and giving them their first air play and this will enable us to step it up a gear and also get important feedback from our listeners about who is exciting them at any given moment.’
