Alex Zane to replace Laverne

Breakfast radio in London is once again looking to TV hosts for presenters – as the replacement for Lauren Laverne is confirmed as Alex Zane. Alex will host the flagship show on Xfm five days a week, from May 29th. He already presents the show each Friday, and Popworld on Channel 4.

Xfm London’s Programme Director Adam Uytman said: "We are really excited to be getting Alex five days a week. His Friday breakfast show has received a great response from the listeners and he was our first choice for the position.’

Alex Zane said: "When my name came out of the tombola I was thrilled, and playing great music to London's best listeners 5 days a week in some way makes up for missing out on that first prize of an alarm clock kettle."

Ian Camfield is also moving from his mid morning show to take over the helm of the drivetime show with immediate effect and will continue to host ‘The Rock Show’ every Sunday evening from 10pm.
