Rather than place an advert in an industry journal for their next presenter, Durham FM is looking closer to home. The Durham FM Dream Academy hopes to find the next big presenter from the Country Durham area by the end of the year – and the winner will grab a 12 month on-air contract.
Each of the twelve finalists will get to impress bosses live on air and listeners will be able to vote for their favourite and chart their progress online.
"This is the most exciting project I have ever been involved in during my radio career. We just don’t know who is out there or the level of talent we might uncover! I would like to think we could be instrumental in discovering a star of tomorrow!" says Durham FM’s Station Manager Peter Grant.
