Schedule shuffle at The Bee

107 The Bee is launching a new breakfast show this week. Andy Cook, who previously hosted the afternoon shift at the station takes over from Martin Greenwood. At the same time evening host Adam Alcock is promoted to drivetime whilst weekend presenter EJ gets the weekday evening show.

Martin presented the breakfast show since the station launched in October 2005, but leaves the airwaves to concentrate on a new commercial production department at the Darwen-based station. He was previously at Emap station Rock FM.

Station Manager Simon Brierley is excited about the changes, and told RadioToday.co.uk: "Andy inherits a Breakfast Show in great shape, which I know he will continue to grow. We will continue to benefit from Greeny’s excellent production values in our station sound and in our new in-house commercial production department and Adam gets a much deserved step up to afternoons. Plus the unique EJ goes full time not a moment too soon.

"We also welcome Neil Blakey to a regular spot on the schedule and can still proudly claim that all our presenters are locally grown. With all the on air team born and bred in East Lancashire we remain a truly locally-focused station."

Simon will continue his mid-morning show on the station, whilst Roy Martin continues to host the late show, Monday to Friday.

107 The Bee is part owned by The Local Radio Company, The Radio Business and local shareholders.
