The Sun teams up with GCap

National UK newspaper The Sun is turning to GCap Media's Creation department to produce a weekly entertainment podcast. "The Sun's Bizarre podcast powered by Music Control" will be promoted across GCap's One Network of 43 stations, and will be free to download.

Creation is wholly owned by GCap Media, and will work with The Sun on other projects too. Victoria Newton, who runs the Bizarre page says: "I'm really excited about this new Bizarre podcast. The show has gone from strength to strength since we launched it over a year ago. But working with GCap means we will have even bigger acts, better music and even more gossip.”

John Hirst, Head of Creation at GCap said: “We are delighted to work with The Sun to produce the Bizarre podcast and a range of other podcasts. Our first effort was jammed with live sessions, hot music news and interviews and we know this will create outstanding content for music lovers across the UK.

“Looks like the Sun and GCap are on the same page!”

Kevin Hughes, who presents the Music Control show on GCap’s One network, is equally enthusiastic about the tie-up. He said: “Music Control is all about new music and the Sun’s podcast is a perfect fit with what we do.”

The podcast will also be available from the local radio station websites which run MusicControl.
