TLRC hours up, reach static

The Local Radio Company has increased it’s group wide listening hours by 10% over the last quarter, while it’s reach has remained solid at 23%. Since abandoning the “Music Fun Life” group-wide branding, many TLRC stations have seen a year-on-year rise in figures.

The rise includes Spire FM (39k to 43k reach, averaging 50% before Music Fun Life) and Wessex FM (38k to 42k reach, averaging 48k before Music Fun Life).

Chief Exec of TLRC, Richard Wheatley, said “These are fabulous figures. We Q2 2005, and increased our total listening hours by 10% through great local programming. This success was reflected in our performance in the Sony awards (the Oscars of the radio industry) where our Isle of Wight station won the Gold Award for stations under 300,000 listeners and Silk FM (in Macclesfield) was runner up in the same category.”

However some stations are still suffering, with Sun FM losing 25% of its listening hours year-on-year.
