UK Music Week commences

Over 250 radio stations are celebrating the start of UK Music Week today. The Stereophonics will officially launch the event with an exclusive performance in Bristol tonight at 7pm. The gig will be broadcast live across Commercial Radio’s CHR network reaching over 15 million listeners.

Programming during the week will be split across five Commercial Radio Networks (Contemporary Hit Radio, Adult Contemporary, Gold, Rock and Rhythmic) and will be tailored for individual network audiences. In addition to the networked programming, local stations will also be running their own special features and music events throughout the week.

Andrew Harrison, CEO of RadioCentre said: "We’re really excited about UK Music Week. The stations have pulled together some fantastic programming offering an incredible breadth of output and it will be a great week to tune into Commercial Radio."

Highlights include daily lunchtime and evening sessions, and evening concerts on Classic FM. In a unique dedication to the UK music industry, Friday, 25th May will see the networks allocating 12 solid hours of their airtime to UK Music and supporting the very best of UK music across the Commercial Radio network.
