Wogan and Humphrys renew

Fresh from the Sony Radio Academy Awards last night, it has emerged that Sir Terry Wogan and John Humphrys have both re-newed their BBC contracts for another two years. John won News Journalist of the Year for his work on Radio 4, whilst Radio 2 breakfast presenter Sir Terry played host.

Speaking to the Media Guardian, Sir Terry said: "I have signed a new contract until 2009, and if I am spared, I will continue until hell freezes over."

John, whose programme picked up the Breakfast Show award, said the new contract will definitely be his last. But he has said that for the last four contracts, he told the newspaper.
