Arqiva Awards – Nominations

The nominations for the 2007 Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards have been announced. This year saw a high number of entires from stations up and down the country, and sees a new Creative Award introduced, to recognise in-house production employees contribution to commercial radio.

Andrew Harrison, CEO of RadioCentre said: “We’re absolutely delighted that we have had such a great response from stations. The Presenter, Programme & Feature and Social Action Initiative Award categories have had particularly high entry levels. It has also been gratifying to see both the Technical Innovation and Digital Station categories grow over time. Across the board, entries came from stations across the four corners of the UK and from a variety of genres which is fantastic. It was also particularly pleasing to hear judges commenting on the high standard of the entries we received this year.”

Paul Eaton, head of radio at Arqiva, said, "The number of entries this year emphasises the increasing growth of the Commercial Radio sector and the talent it embraces. This is the eighth year that Arqiva has sponsored the awards and our commitment stems from the fresh innovation and skill found within the industry year after year. We are proud to support the sector and look forward to recognising the winners of this year's awards."
