Xfm's stations in London, Manchester and Scotland are teaming up to bring live music to Friday evenings. [i]Live from Leicester Square[/i] from 6pm is designed to get listeners in the mood for the weekend with tracks from their favourite bands – who will be performing live from the Xfm studios in front of a group of lucky listeners.
The first session will take place on Friday 29th June with The Manic Street Preachers. The Thrills and Athlete are just a couple of the other bands confirmed for this summer.
Recent bands for the drive time sessions have included Jamie T, The Feeling, Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly, Mark Ronson and Biffy Clyro.
Xfm’s managing director Nick Davidson said ‘We know that what our listeners love is live music and we are constantly striving to give them exactly that and in abundance. What better way to drive home or be finishing off your working week than with great live tracks from your favourite bands blaring out of your radio. It’s like a free gig to kick start your weekend.’
