Bids invited for north west

Ofcom is inviting applications for community radio stations in north Wales and the north west of England. The only areas Ofcom will not accept submissions for are Chorley, Oldham, Tameside, the Wirral and the Vale Royal District of Cheshire as community radio licences have already been granted in these areas.

North Wales is defined as all parts of Wales north of a line drawn between where Ceredigion borders Gwynedd and where Powys, Shropshire and Herefordshire meet, and northwest England includes Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

A non refundable fee of £600 will be payable for each application submitted. The closing date is 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday 30 October 2007.
