Community Radio football deal

A community radio station has bagged the rights to provide full exclusive commentary on their local football team, leaving the local commercial station without the coverage for the first time in years. The deal has been signed by Pure 107.8 FM in Stockport.

Imagine FM's commentator Jon Keighren will also be making the switch to the community radio station. He's happy with the move: "This will be my tenth year as the voice of Stockport County and I am delighted to be joining such a fantastic organisation. Imagine FM did a great job for the Hatters, but I believe 'Pure County` will take the coverage to the next level and provide fans with a service which is unrivalled in the Coca Cola League."

Jon will be joined at every match by Countys Media Manager Des Hinks and Pure 107.8 FMs News and Sport Editor Pete Liggins.

Pure's Chief Executive Doug Cresswell said: "We are delighted to be bringing County to the people of Stockport for the first time on Pure. It demonstrates our commitment to be the only station to concentrate exclusively on Stockport."

Pure 107.8 FM received its official broadcast license in 2005 and was launched live on September 13th 2006. It`s a part of Pure Innovations Limited, a not-for-profit company working across Greater Manchester providing opportunities for disadvantaged people to move into employment. Pure also helps local authorities to innovate and modernise the way they train and develop their services to disabled people.
