A helicopter providing traffic news for Dallas radio stations KRLD-AM and KVIL crashed today after losing power. Radio reporter Julie DeHarty was with her Fox Television colleague Chip Waggoner when the pilot was forced to make a hard emergency landing. All on board escaped with minor bruises.
An investigation has begun in to the cause of the power failure, which happened over Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie.
Less than three days ago, two television news helicopters collided in mid-air whilst covering a police chase in which four people died.
