Viking launches flood appeal

Following recent severe weather in the Hull area, Viking FM and Magic 1161 have launched an appeal to help flood victims. The Emap stations are encouraging locals to offer any support that may benefit those affected by the worst flooding in Hull since records began.

Sam Heywood, of Viking FM’s Sam and Mark at Breakfast show said: “The floods have been devastating, some residents have lost everything and we desperately want to help.

“We are working with the local authorities to appeal to people to donate any items or services that will help flood victims get back on their feet. This could be items of furniture, food or sandbags. Equally valuable are services or skills such as carpet cleaning or house maintenance that you can pledge — we really need your help”.

Viking FM and Magic 1161 are working with local councils to ensure that all pledges are distributed to those people who are worst affected and need our help most.
