Mark Goodier goes networked

Smooth Radio's mid-morning show for London, hosted by former Radio 1 presenter Mark Goodier is to be syndicated across sister stations in East Midlands, West Midlands and Glasgow. Smooth Radio in the North West will not carry the show, neither will the new station for the North East.

Mark Goodier said: "I joined Smooth Radio because the combination of fantastic music and the opportunity to deliver an entertaining show was too good to pass up. I was very excited to be broadcasting to London every day and now that the show is broadcasting across the Midlands and into Scotland I am thrilled."

John Simons, GMG Radio Group Programming Director said; “Mark is a giant in the world of broadcasting and Smooth Radio is delighted to be able to reunite him with audiences across the country that grew up listening to him."

Smooth Radio in the North East, expected to launch before February 2009, will not be allowed to carry the show due to Format restrictions currently in place – which specifies the station must be locally produced/presented 24 hours a day, with no more than seven hours a week to be networked.

The networked show will start on September 3rd, and will air weekdays 10am till 1pm.
