TV show for radio girl

A former BBC Radio Lancashire and GMR presenter is set to join BBC North West Tonight as co-host to Gordon Burns. Ranvir Singh joins the nightly news programme from September 10th in a new-look studio as the show goes through a 'major re-launch'.

Ranvir was born in Preston and studied at Lancaster University. She already hosts regional breakfast and late night bulletins on the television channel, but is looking forward to joining Gordon on North West Tonight: "This really is my dream job and the North West is such a fantastic place to work, it’s very diverse and I know that I will have some interesting and amazing stories to present to our viewers every evening."

Ranvir joins the programme as it is given a complete face lift with a new title sequence, graphics and studio set. Her broadcasting career started in Blackburn at BBC Radio Lancashire after being offered a six—month contract while still on work experience. She subsequently moved on to BBC GMR (now BBC Radio Manchester) in time for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
