GMG Radio gets ready to Rock

GMG Radio will rock Manchester with a mix of classic rock and speech – with a launch date for 106.1 Rock Radio of May 6th, Radio Today can reveal. The station has also announced the appointment of former Smooth FM sales director Joe Radcliffe to the position of station director ready for the launch next year.

Speaking about the launch of Rock Radio, Joe Radcliffe said: “Rock Radio will provide the region with an exciting new station – giving listeners a combination of music and talk not currently available to them. It’s also a great platform for advertisers to reach this much sought after market of affluent men. As a rock fan myself I’m looking forward to launching Manchester’s first classic rock station.”

Replacing Joe in the position of sales director north west is Alison Tootill, who is currently sales director at GMG owned Real Radio Yorkshire. She will take up her new position in the north west in the autumn. A replacement at Real Radio will be announced in due course.
