KM Group rebrands ctr 105.6

As expected, ever since the sale of ctr 105.6fm to the Kent Messenger Group almost 12 months ago, Maidstone's local radio station is now known as kmfm. The name change brings the amount of km branded stations in Kent to seven.

Jon Maxfield, former managing director of ctr 105.6fm speaking in November 2006 as the station was sold to KM Group, said: "Joining the KM family of radio stations is the next logical step. CTR has been steadily growing its audience and revenue since its launch in October 2003. The station will add to the reach of the KM Group's stations covering the county.

"We have been a local success story, proving that Maidstone wants, needs and deserves a voice of its own. Our many loyal listeners will, I hope, welcome this very positive development."
