Mike Bawden, commercial content director for the Big City Network, has quit his position at the 'for sale' group. Prior to taking up his current position less than a year ago, Mike was managing director of Viking FM and Magic 1161.
Mike is leaving the group tomorrow and is now considering working for himself, after taking time out to travel the world.
Mike told RadioToday.co.uk: "I've been at Emap for seven years and before this current role, my five years at Viking as MD was great – what a team to work with and we really did punch above our weight. We did amazingly well at the Sony's each year and I've worked with some amazing on-air talent there – Hirsty, Foxy & Tom, Sam & Mark, Paul Foster, Darren Lethem and many, many more. The revenue figures, events we did and just the "kick ass" attitude of the place would make anyone proud to say they worked there once! Good luck to Steve All-bran and all the current team at Viking!

He worked closely with Iain Clasper, Big City's commercial director, to provide creative solutions for national clients and to develop stronger content for Big City across mobile and the internet.
