Original steals Northsound DJs

Six members of Northsound staff have been poached by former boss at the station Ian McKenna to join Original 106. The presenter line-up for the new Aberdeen station has been announced and includes Martin Ingram, Neil Weightman and Evelyn Brown.

Martin has been with Northsound for 19 years and will present the Original breakfast show. Drivetime will be hosted by Neil Weightman who is also programme controller, and Evelyn Brown looks after the evening show. David Heane from Century FM in the northwest of England will make the move north and be on-air each weekday from 10am till 2pm. He's happy to be working in Aberdeen, as his mum lives there!

Local music man Michael Gordon has also been signed up by Original. He will present a two hour late night weekday show along with a Sunday night showcase programme.

Ian was managing director at Northsound from September 2004 to February 2006, before joining Radio City in Liverpool in the same role. He previously told the Sunday Herald newspaper he’d be silly not to talk to anyone at Northsound who might be interested in a job at the new station.
