GaydarRadio hires Virgin exec

The owners of GaydarRadio, QSoft Consulting, has poached Kate Brunning from Virgin Radio. Kate was an Account Manager on the Business Development team for two and a half years, but joins Gaydar as a Sponsorship and Promotions Executive.

During her time at Virgin, Kate sold their biggest ever commercial promotion with Debenhams and helping the team to win the Daimler Chrysler Media Award 2006 (the first time a radio station had ever won the award).

Her remit at QSoft will be to increase sponsorship, promotions and branded content across the Gaydar’s broadcast and online entertainment services, including GaydarRadio. She reports to Cross Platform Sales Manager Matt Newton.

QSoft Sales and Marketing Director Trevor Martin said: “The fact that we have managed to attract someone of Kate’s calibre and creative experience speaks volumes about the growing potential of the Gaydar brand – and its universe – within the mainstream advertising marketplace.”

Kate’s media career began in the marketing department at Aim Publications across their wedding titles. She then moved into radio via the GCap Media owned sales house, Opus, working across the GCap local station network and Classic FM radio brands. From there she moved to sell sponsorship and promotions across all the entire GCap network before joining Virgin Radio.
