Smiles all round after Euros

Following our report on Monday evening announcing the winners of the GTN European Radio Awards, we've received many press releases from winning stations around the UK, so it would be a shame to let them go to waste.

First up is Forth One which picked up Best Regular Music Show award for Krystle Weaver's Friday and Saturday night dance show. Speaking from the event Krystle said, ‘I’m delighted to collect this award. It’s really important for me to be recognised within my field of interest. The ceremony was fantastic and as it’s the first year of the awards, makes it all that little bit more exciting.’

Secondly, GCap Media's Trent FM scooped two awards, one for Jo & Twiggy as breakfast presenters, and another for Mark Hitchings, more commonly know as Brainz as breakfast show producer. Howard Bradley, Managing Director for Trent FM said: “I am absolutely over the moon that Jo, Twiggy and Brainz have been recognised internationally. It is a testament to the talent we have working at the station and I am immensely proud.”

Finally, Rock FM's Adam Caterall has reason to shout after winning two awards in the space of six months, despite being on-air for just a couple of years. He was crowned ‘Best Breakfast Personality’ in Europe.

Well done to all concerned – and good luck to everyone entering next year's awards.
