GCap in music download deal

GCap Media has agreed a deal with iTunes to allow listeners and website visitors to instantly download songs they hear on-air. Over 50 GCap station websites will promote the campaign, including Capital 95.8 and Classic FM.

The deal comes just weeks after Global Radio and GMG Radio sign up to offer UBC Media's new music download service Cliq.

Radio listeners will also be able to download playlist highlights, podcasts and station-recommended albums straight from station-branded areas created within the iTunes Store.

Listeners of Xfm can register online to receive 5 free downloads of live material recorded at this year’s iTunes Festival:London, while Capital 95.8 are giving their listeners the chance to win an iPod Touch and every play-listed track from 2007.

Robin Pembroke, Group Director Interactive and Online said: “We are really excited about this campaign with iTunes. It allows our users to easily buy the music they are listening to on our stations. It’s another step in developing innovative listening experiences for the computer, iPod and iPhone.”
