Warrington station hits high

Warrington’s online community station Radio Worm hit a new high when it broadcast from Warrington’s answer to the London Eye. Presenter David Lawrenson broadcast his afternoon show live from Europe’s largest touring ferris wheel.

The wheel stands at 130 feet in the gardens of Warrington town hall. Lawrenson who broadcast the entire four hour show from the wheel said: “It was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. A few goes round would have been enough but 4 hours! The good thing is that there were lots of great views of Warrington and the surrounding areas.”

Radio Worm has recently applied for an FM community license and they will find out in early 2008 if they are successful or not.
