Jazz moves to Classic FM

Following news about the close of digital station theJazz, parent company GCap Media will introduce a new two-hour nightly jazz show on Classic FM.

The new show will air from midnight till 2am seven nights a week and is part of the stations biggest schedule shake-up in 15 years. Helen Mayhew will present this show weekedays with Tim Lihoreau taking on weekends.
BBC 1's changing rooms presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Margherita Taylor from Capital 95.8 will also join.
Laurence will host a new Sunday morning show whilst Margherita will take over the early evening slot with Smooth Classics at Six. Lisa Duncombe and Mark Griffiths will leave the station to make way for the new schedule.
Speaking about the new schedule, Classic FM managing director Darren Henley said: “These are the biggest set of changes in our 15-year history. We’ve spent the last few months talking extensively to our listeners and our new programme line-up is a direct response to what they want to hear on Classic FM.”
A new jazz channel will also launch online at myclassicfm.com
