BBC Radio Newcastle has signed a new three-year commentary deal with Sunderland AFC.
The tie-up means Radio Newcastle will broadcast full match commentaries of all domestic Sunderland games until the end of the 2010-11 season.
Radio Newcastle is one of two stations in the North East broadcasting Sunderland commentary, the other being 100-102 Century FM. Bauer's Metro Radio provided commentary until the end of last season.
Commentator Nick Barnes and former Blackcats player Gary Bennett will continue to provide coverage of the Black Cats throughout the commentary deal.
Nick said: "The past five seasons have been very memorable for myself and Gary so it's fantastic to sign up for a further three seasons."
Sunderland AFC's Marketing and Communications Director Lesley Callaghan said: ""BBC Radio Newcastle have demonstrated their ongoing commitment to and support for Sunderland AFC and I'm confident that our fans will continue to enjoy a first-class service from our official commentary partner."
Century FM's commentary deal is due to expire at the end of next season.
