Xfm is dropping the speech-less Xu format of their daytime programmes and re-introducing presenters, starting in London with drive time host Rick Shaw moving to the mid-morning 9am – 1pm slot. Current weekend jock Dave Berry will takeover drive time from March 25th.
Rick’s show will also see the return of the X-list from 9am -10am – an hour of classic indie tracks.
Xfm London’s programme director Adam Uytman said: "This is a really positive signing for Xfm. We have had great feedback from our listeners about Dave’s Saturday show and it will be great to have a London voice on the daytime schedule. We will shortly be announcing the host of the afternoon show and changes to the weekend schedule – so many more exciting changes ahead!”
Dave Berry said: "To be given the drive time show on XFM is a great honour. I welcome the responsibility of getting people home safely with their indie sensibilities intact."
In other news, it has been [link=http://drivetimejock.blogspot.com/2008/03/one-big-family.html]blogged[/link] that Xfm management Ande Macpherson and Nick Davidson have both left the company. GCap told RadioToday.co.uk both Ande and Nick are still employed, but How Do [link=http://www.how-do.co.uk/north-west-media-news/north-west-broadcasting]reports[/link] Ande has just jet off to New Zeland to see family at this crucial time for the station.
