GMG and Bauer lead the nominations announced earlier today by IRN, with Hallam FM receiving five nominations, and 105.4 Century FM a close second with four. Real Radio Scotland received three nominations and Capital 95.8, Radio City and Viking FM were amongst those to receive two.
Several smaller radio groups also picked up nominations, including TLRC, Tindle and Sunrise.
Simon Monk, programme director at Hallam FM told Radio Today: "We're absolutely chuffed that our news team has received the recognition it deserves."
"It's been a testing year with the flooding in our area, but the Hallam FM news team led the way in bringing the most vital news and information to our listeners, as IRN have now recognised."
The winners will be announced on Tuesday 15th April at the Heads of News Conference in London.
