Wire FM has made two new appointments to fill gaps in its daytime and drivetime slots, as Mark Keen and Mike Russell head to Warrington.
The two presenters, who first worked together on talkSPORT started their new shows yesterday.
Mark Keen is the new daytime host whilst Mike Russell will be the new voice of drivetime across Warrington, Runcorn and Widnes.
Until recently, Russell was programme manager at Time 106.6 in Slough after three years at 107.2 Wire FM's sister station, talkSPORT, working in production across a number of shows. He also runs his own audio production business Music Radio Creative.
Keen was the first voice on another sister station, 102.4 Wish FM, when it launched in 1997 and when he later moved to talkSPORT, his producer was Mike Russell. He is also a published author and former newspaper columnist.
Brian Paige, senior programmer in the North West, said: "I’m sure the addition of Mark and Mike to the line-up will be a big hit with listeners – both have lots of personality and have a good understanding of audiences in the North West."
