Play Radio UK splits in two

Play Radio UK is repeating the trends of UK ILR in the late 80s and early 90s by splitting into two separate stations. Play One UK will play pop music released after the year 2000 whilst Play Two UK will play music from the 80s and 90s and include talk shows featuring celebrities.

The two new live services will take over from the current Play Radio UK live stream. The rest of the Play network will remain the same.
Programme Controller Lee Moulsdale said: "The 'Not The Tommy Boyd Show' will continue its 'No Holds Barred' talk format on Sunday nights and some exciting celebrities have recently agreed to appear on the Sunday talk schedule which will move to Play Two UK."
