4 Radio hires head of music

Channel 4 has signed the senior vice-president of AandR at EMI music publishing, Alex Donelly to take charge of the music output on all of 4 Radio's new DAB channels.

Former BBC Radio 1 executive Alex is the second signing for the network in a week, with Five Live managing editor Michael Hill also joining as 4 Radio's general manager. They will work with Bob Shennan, director of radio at Channel 4.
Alex said: "I'm sad to be leaving the world's best music publisher, but thrilled to be joining Channel 4, whom I regard as the UK's leading creative and innovative broadcaster. The opportunity to be part of the team building a new music radio platform is very exciting."
