Ofcom has received just one application for the DAB digital radio multiplex in Somerset. The sole bidder is MuxCo Somerset Limited, made up of TLRC, UKRD and MuxCo Ltd.
Seven 'services' are planned, Star Radio, Ivel FM, Orchard FM, Quay West, Easy Radio, UCB UK and Traffic Radio, plus BBC Somerset.
MuxCo Somerset Limited also proposes to provide a wide selection of speech and music podcasts provided by a range of companies. If successful, two transmitters will provide total outdoor coverage of 78.2 per cent of the adult population.
Ofcom is seeking views on the application by 9 May 2008.
