GMG wants to Rock Dublin

GMG Radio has emerged as 45 per cent shareholder in a bid for a new classic rock service for Dublin City and County. Classic Rock Radio is just one of three bidders, along with Dublin Rock Radio and Radio Nova.
Classic Rock Radio 100.3's application, if successful, would mean a fourth station for GMG's rock brand, which is already operating in Scotland, Manchester and the north east of England.

GMG Radio has partnered with East Coast Digital Media Limited, headed by Seán Ashmore to submit the application to the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland.
Radio Nova 100 is run by Classic Rock Broadcasting Limited and headed by Kevin Branigan who has already operated a temporary rock station in the city, and the Rock Radio 100.3FM bid is headed by Ger Roe and backed by current rock and independent music station Phantom FM.
All three applications will be available to view online on Friday 6th June. A decision will be made by the BCI on September 8th 2008.
