More flock to Q Radio

Media journalist Anthony Barnes has been appointed as online editor across Bauer's Q brand in advance of the re-launch of Q Radio.

Anthony will report into Q Magazine editor Paul Rees and Q Radio programme director Ric Blaxill.
Anthony, a former Arts and Media Correspondent for both the Independent on Sunday and the Press Association will lead an overhaul of the qthemusic.com website. One of his first tasks will be to embed the new Q Radio station into the site when the station launches on June 2nd.
Anthony said: “I’m delighted to be joining at a time when the online site can play a crucial part in launching a great new radio station and acting as a unifier between the different platforms of the brand.”
Q Radio currently exists as a jukebox-style digital radio station with 282,000 listeners a week and is relaunching as all new Q on June 2nd with a totally new line-up, presenters and content.
Former XFM and BBC 2 Desi DNA presenter Samanthi, XFM South Wales head of music Emma Newman, Acid Jazz records founder Eddie Piller and stand-up comic Russell Kane will also be part of the line-up.
