New station director for Smooth

Stuart Taylor has stepped down as station director of Smooth 102.2 to concentrate on his roles as deputy chief executive and group commercial director of GMG Radio.
Paul Fairburn has been appointed as his successor at the London based station.

Overseeing the day to day running of the station with a key focus on programming and commercial opportunities, Fairburn will take up his role on 23rd June.
During his career in radio Fairburn has managed various regional stations across the country including Heart 100.7 and 106, Galaxy 102.2, Aire FM and Magic 828, increasing each station’s audience and profitability.
Stuart Taylor said: “London is a key area for growth for us and we are about to embark on a multi-million pound marketing campaign for 102.2 Smooth Radio so it is imperative that we have a full-time station director in place. Paul has an enviable track record of success and I’m sure will be a great asset to the team.”
