No competition for Southport

Ofcom has received just one declaration of intent for the Southport local commercial radio licence – from current licensee Dune FM.

This means Dune will be invited to reapply for their own licence under the fast-track procedure, eliminating the need for a full-blown licence application and associated fees.
Dune FM was recently sold by The Local Radio Company to David Duffy – chief executive of community radio station Cheshire FM.
