GMG Radio Scotland's managing director Billy Anderson is set to take on the expanded role of Regional Director for the group.
As well as his duties overseeing the running of Real, Smooth and Rock Radio in Scotland, Billy will take on the additional responsibility of GMG Radio’s stations in the North East of England from 1st October,
Debbie Bowman, the North East’s managing director will report into Billy, while Billy will report into Group Operations Director Shaun Bowron.
Shaun said: “Billy has earned recognition and respect both from his colleagues within GMG Radio and the Scottish media market for the way he has driven the success of our Scotland business. He will rise to the challenge of driving forward the development of our North East of England stations and his appointment as Regional Director is part of our ambition to ensure we have the very best support structure in place for our staff as our group continues to grow.”
Billy Anderson said: “I’m delighted to be taking up this new role and looking forward to working with our team in the North East. The staff have been the key to the success we have achieved at GMG Radio Scotland and I know there is a fantastic team within our North East business.
