Star Radio in Cheltenham will continue to broadcast as Star Radio for at least six months, after the station was sold by UKRD to a local company.
The previous suggestion that the station will re brand to Red 107.5 was "purely an idea put forward by an enthusiastic member of the team," Radio Today has been told.
The radio station will continue to be run completely by Junie Lewis who has been in charge for a number of years, and will look towards the listeners to help suggest a new name for the station once the licence to continue running the Star Radio brand runs out in 12 months time.
